Remove the ECU
Follow the manufacturer service notes for your engine. Location and fasteners vary by brand and year.
- 01Switch off 12 V power (battery cut-off or battery terminals).
- 02Open the cover and locate the ECU.
- 03Photograph connectors and mounting before anything comes loose.
- 04Unplug connectors carefully, then remove mounting screws.
Keep power off the whole time the ECU is out of the boat.
Workshop checklist
Pack for transit
ECUs units fail from impact and static more often than from the flash itself. Pack as if the parcel will be dropped.
- 01
Wrap the ECU in several layers of bubble wrap or foam.
- 02
Place it in a rigid cardboard box with no empty space.
- 03
Add anti-static protection where you can.
- 04
Tape a printed note with your contact and engine details inside the box.
What to send
Put a clear note in the box. Missing details slow the job.

Full termsCompleted custom work
Completed engine-specific tuning is custom professional work. Except where mandatory law requires otherwise, LHH does not offer voluntary refunds for completed custom calibration. If we saved the factory program and the hardware allows, we can restore the ECU to its original stock tune free of charge on request.
If an incorrect calibration is selected, the order may be switched to the correct product before flashing.
If inspection shows that the selected calibration is not a correct match, LHH will contact you before writing and offer a switch to a suitable product.
